What Goes Into a Kitting Project
Every kitting job starts with a Bill of Materials (BOM). The BOM lists every component that goes into the finished kit: the individual products, inner packaging, inserts, stickers, shrink bands, poly bags, and the outer box or mailer. We build the BOM with you during onboarding so there's no ambiguity about what goes where. For Amazon FBA kits, the BOM also includes the FNSKU label placement, suffocation warning requirements, and poly bag specs if applicable. For retail kits headed to Walmart or CVS, the BOM includes UPC placement, case pack configuration, and any retailer-specific labeling. We store all kit components as separate SKUs in our WMS and decrement them automatically as kits are assembled, so you always have visibility into component stock levels and can reorder before you run out.
