LCL Shipping Without the Full Container Cost
Most shipments don't fill a 20-foot container. If you're moving 2 to 8 pallets instead of a full 20 or 40, paying for an entire container is burning money. Less than Container Load (LCL) shipping lets you share container space with other shippers, and you only pay for the cubic meters your freight actually occupies. MeisterPrep consolidates LCL shipments from four warehouse locations: Long Beach CA, Des Plaines IL, Houston TX, and Charleston SC. We work with ocean carriers running weekly departures from all major US ports, so your goods don't sit waiting for a full container to fill up. A typical LCL shipment from Long Beach to Shanghai runs 18-22 days port to port. Our consolidation partners in each port city group compatible cargo by destination region, which means your freight shares space with other commercial goods heading to the same discharge port. This keeps per-CBM rates between $35 and $85 depending on lane, season, and cargo class. For Amazon FBA sellers shipping replenishment stock, Shopify brands sending inventory to overseas 3PLs, or B2B wholesalers filling international purchase orders, LCL removes the minimum volume barrier that makes FCL impractical for mid-size shipments. We handle the booking, cargo consolidation, container loading documentation, and port delivery coordination on both ends.
LCL Shipment Process at MeisterPrep
Four steps from warehouse receipt to destination delivery. Each step is tracked with timestamps, photos, and documentation in our system.
How MeisterPrep Manages Your LCL Shipments
Our LCL operation runs on a weekly cycle. Cargo arrives at our warehouse, gets measured and weighed, and enters our consolidation queue. We group shipments by destination port and cargo compatibility. Hazmat and food-grade freight go in separate containers from general merchandise. Temperature-sensitive products get booked into reefer consolidation services with partner carriers. Every LCL shipment gets a detailed packing list with piece count, weight, dimensions, and HS codes before it leaves our facility. This pre-clearance documentation cuts destination customs processing time, which matters when your buyer is waiting on a delivery window. We photograph each pallet and carton before it enters the container, giving you a visual record of load condition at origin.
